Marie-Jaqueline Muzhuzha - Kiss in Romance Fiction



Considering the content of romance fiction, we would usually anticipate being almost overwhelmed by the regular occurrence of kissing. The act of cutting out all instances of the word kiss occurring in four romance books, is to physically evidence just how much kissing is involved; it is not practiced as much as maybe expected. 

Does this simply mean that the act of kissing in popular fiction is not as regular an act as presumed? Or is there more to romance than the meeting of lips? 

Mills and Boon, well known for their romance fiction; have been a huge inspiration hence they were selected for this analysis.
